Martyn’s Law and protective security

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law, introduces duties for certain premises and events to improve preparedness and protective security. Clients should refer to official Home Office and SIA guidance when assessing whether their premises or events may fall within scope.

SIA and private security verification

Clients should ensure that security personnel and security suppliers are appropriately licensed, trained and authorised for the work being undertaken. The links below provide official information about SIA licensing and the Approved Contractor Scheme.

Lone working and site safety

Security services can involve lone working, out-of-hours attendance and site-specific safety considerations. The HSE provides official guidance on managing lone working risks.

Cyber security and digital safety

Where digital portals, reporting systems or electronic records are used, clients and staff should follow appropriate cyber security practices. The NCSC provides practical guidance for small and medium-sized organisations.

Emergency and reporting links

Use official emergency, police, counter-terrorism, fraud and cyber-crime reporting routes where appropriate. Tornado FM Ltd’s contact forms and WhatsApp enquiry routes are for general commercial enquiries only.
